Seit dem Schuljahr 2007/08 ist das BG/BRG 19 eine offizielle DLP Schule. Im Gegensatz zu den International Schools und Bilingualen Schulen, wo alle Fächer auf Englisch unterrichtet werden, gibt es in der DLP Klasse lediglich eine gewisse Anzahl an Unterrichtsstunden auf Englisch.
Die DLP Klasse ist auf die Unterstufe beschränkt (4 Jahre). In drei Stunden pro Woche findet der Unterricht in bestimmten Fächer: Biologie, Geografie, Geschichte oder Musik zum Teil oder gänzlich auf Englisch statt. In der Klasse unterrichtet sowohl ein permanenter, qualifizierter Native Speaker als auch ein im spezifischen Fach ausgebildeter österreichischer Lehrer.
Für Eltern und Schüler, die sich für die DLP-Klasse interessieren, gibt es einen Informationsstand am „Tag der offenen Tür“ der Schule, der jedes Jahr im Oktober stattfindet. Dies ist eine Gelegenheit, mit den am Programm beteiligten Lehrern und Schülern zu sprechen und Fragen zu stellen.
Wenn Sie Ihr Kind für das kommende Schuljahr für die DLP-Klasse anmelden möchten, müssen Sie sich zunächst für ein Orientierungsgespräch anmelden. Diese Orientierungsgespräche finden vor den offiziellen Schuleinschreibungen für das jeweilige Schuljahr statt.
Für das kommende Schuljahr 2024/25 finden die Orientierungsgespräche zwischen dem 17.01. und dem 19.01.2024 an unserer Schule statt. Die Terminvereinbarung für das Orientierungsgespräch findet ONLINE am 08.01. und 09.01.2024 auf www.billroth73.at statt.

Our school BG/BRG 19, has been an official DLP school since the 2007/08 academic year. In contrast to international and bilingual schools, where all subjects are taught in English, only a certain number of classes and subjects per week are taught in the DLP class.
The DLP class is limited to the Unterstufe – the first four years. Three hours per week in specific subjects which are: Biology, Geography, History or Music, are taught in part or entirely in English. There is a permanent, qualified native speaker teacher who team teaches with the Austrian-qualified subject teacher.
For parents and pupils who are interested in the DLP class, there is an information stand at the school’s “Tag der offenen Tür” which is held every year in October. This is an opportunity to speak and ask questions to the teachers and pupils involved in the programme.
If you would like to enrol your child for the upcoming academic year in the DLP class, the first step is to register for an orientation talk. These orientation talks place before the official enrolments for the academic year.
The orientation talks for the academic year 2024/2025 will be held at the school from 17.01. until 19.01.2024. Registration for the orientation talks can be made ONLINE via www.billroth73.at on 08.01. and 09.01.2024.

Was sind Orientierungsgespräche?
Im Rahmen eines Gesprächs werden die Kinder auf ihre sprachliche Kompetenz eingeschätzt, wobei es weniger darum geht, wie gut das Englisch der Kinder ist als vielmehr darum, wie sie in der Sprache kommunizieren, wie sie damit umgehen, wenn sie etwas nicht verstehen u.ä.
Die Kinder werden zu zweit zu einem ca. 15-minütigem Gespräch eingeladen. Es werden Fragen zu Hobbys, Dinge die sie mögen/nicht mögen etc. gestellt. Es folgt eine gemeinsame Aktivität und zum Abschluss können die Kinder Fragen stellen.
Rechtzeitig vor der Anmeldung für die 1.Klasse erfahren sie, ob ihr Kind sich für die DLP-Klasse qualifiziert hat und melden dann ihr Kind an unserer oder einer anderen Schule für die 1.Klasse an.
What are the orientation talks?
These are an informal conversation with our prospective pupils through which the language competency is looked into. The knowledge of English is less important than finding out how they communicate, how they react if something is unclear etc.
The orientation talks last about 15 minutes and children are invited in pairs. As an ice breaker, questions about everyday activities, likes/dislikes, what they did at school etc. are asked. A paired activity follows and to round up, the children can ask questions.
You will be informed as to whether your child has successfully completed the orientation talks in time for you to register him or her for the first form either at our school or another school.
